Look Up to Take Better Photos

Dear Sprinkle Goodness Reader,

Here’s a simple tip about how our mommy, Catherine, has improved her photography. We’re “paw-ing it forward” so that it can help you, too.

This tip is to simply… Look Up.

Here's an article on how "looking up" can present unique photo opportunities for you - with examples of how it's helped our mommy take better pictures.

What Spiritual Pets are and our First Christian Message for Easter

Posted by Catherine and the Paws-itive Pets on March 26, 2016 at 2:50 PM Comments comments (0)

Dear Sprinkle Goodness Reader,

“Spiritual Pets.”

What’s that? It’s an idea Catherine came up with “years” ago. Pets bring such joy and healing to our lives – just as our faith brings joy and healing to our spirits.

“Should “Spiritual Pets” then be about how pets heal us?” Catherine pondered.

There are already numerous good books, articles, and testimonies sharing the “healing power” of pets.

So Catherine recently decided on a new theme for “Spiritual Pets”: What if we, the “paws-itive” pets, or other animals, share mini lessons of faith with you in short video clips?

For example, in our Easter YouTube video, we have a traditional looking Easter basket with colourful eggs, but our video also reminds people that Easter is a spiritual time. It even includes an inspirational Easter Bible verse.

Actually, it’s a “wild rabbit” that gets the honour of sharing this spiritual message with you. Catherine saw him hopping around in our yard and captured a little film footage of him.

Here is our video with a “guest appearance” from a wild rabbit (a.k.a. the “Easter Bunny") reminding people that Easter is a spiritual holiday: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBqWg9ROckk

Enjoy!

Sincerely,

Daisey, the “Paws-itive” Beagle

P.S.: If you’d like to learn more about the Christian meaning of Easter, here is a good article explaining what Easter is.

Building a Marriage that Lasts Fur-Ever: 3 Inspiring Sources

Posted by Catherine and the Paws-itive Pets on February 14, 2016 at 8:00 PM Comments comments (0)

Dear Sprinkle Goodness Reader,

“What the world needs now is love, sweet love

It's the only thing that there's just too little of

What the world needs now is love, sweet love

No, not just for some, but for everyone.”

Those lyrics are sung by Jackie DeShannon.

Catherine first discovered this song, "What The World Needs Now Is Love” from the movie, Forrest Gump.

It seems like a “purr-fect” song for Valentine’s Day and Catherine wishes the world love … God’s love.

God intends marriages to last. And, there are good people out there, supporting marriage through mediums such as movies and books. Catherine is grateful for that. She wants to “paw-forward” three sources (one movie, two books) that support marriage, include Jesus (yeah!!), and help marriages last … “Fur-Ever”!

You can discover what they are here.

By Buster: Coffee and Cats - 10 Intriguing Cat Cafés Around the World

Posted by Catherine and the Paws-itive Pets on February 2, 2016 at 11:35 AM Comments comments (0)

Dear Sprinkle Goodness Reader,

Love travelling? Love kitties?

Now you can get the best of both worlds. There are “Cat Cafés” located around the world! It’s an opportunity to pet and play with cats, while relaxing with a cup of coffee if you wish.

So if you enjoy cafés and love cats... be sure to take a look at this Fodor’s Travel article about Cat Cafés if you are visiting any of these destinations:

• Oakland, California

• New York City

• Vienna, Austria

• London, England

• Madrid, Spain

• Osaka, Japan

• Budapest, Hungary

• Berlin, Germany

• Singapore

• Chiang Mai, Thailand...

While browsing the article, you’ll get details on 10 different Cat Cafés in these destinations. Nine of them include website addresses (and one includes a phone number) – so you can plan a “purr-fectly” interesting side trip.

If you do visit a Cat Café, we hope you’ll share your experience with us!

Thanks so much, and happy “cat-themed” travels!

Sincerely,

Buster, the “Paws-itive” Kitty

P.S.: One other reason we wanted to “paw-forward” this article with you, is that these Cat Cafés often exist to help cats find “forever” homes. So if you happen to find a kitty you’d love to adopt while you’re at a Cat Café, we hope you’ll tell us about it, too!

YouTube Video: Daisey's Superpower Grows Stronger at Age 10

Posted by Catherine and the Paws-itive Pets on December 3, 2015 at 7:40 PM Comments comments (0)

Dear Sprinkle Goodness Reader,

Daisey here. I turned 10 years old this summer. And my “Superpower” is better than ever!

It’s a “Superpower” I had when I was a younger beagle; however, I seemed to have lost my powers for a little while. But thanks to vet visits, some medical care, and a change in my diet – my “Superpower” is back!!

There’s no stopping me now.

What is my “Superpower”?

I’ll give you a little clue. I remind Catherine and Matt of the famous Superheroes such as Underdog, Superman or Supergirl when I do this... and it’s not just the amazing cape and outfit I wear in my YouTube video: https://youtu.be/31oFhW7b0lQ

So what can I do?

I can leap over tall barriers in a single bound!

It’s almost like I'm flying. You can see my “Superpower” here on YouTube: https://youtu.be/31oFhW7b0lQ

Enjoy!

U.S. Pet Travel Opportunity in the South Rim of the Grand Canyon

Posted by Catherine and the Paws-itive Pets on September 10, 2015 at 10:50 PM Comments comments (1)

Dear Sprinkle Goodness Reader,

It’s Rocky, the Paws-itive Beagle, dreaming of U.S. travel. Where would you like to travel with your doggies in the United States? If I could travel to two places in the U.S. they would be…

• To see the statue of Balto, the heroic sled dog, in New York City’s Central Park.

• To go to Philadelphia and jump up and down, with my mommy Catherine, beside The Rocky Statue. (Catherine is a fan of the Rocky film series starring Sylvester Stallone. Her favourite one though is the first Rocky movie.)

Okay, these are places Catherine would LOVE to go to with Matt, me, Daisey and our kitties. But I’m happy to go wherever Catherine goes.

Today however, Catherine discovered a third place to go in the U.S. from GoPetFriendly.com. It is a cool pet travel opportunity in the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. I’ll let the doggy owners who travelled there with their dogs tell you all about it right here

By Daisey: My 10th Birthday and How to Plan a Birthday Party for Your Doggy

Posted by Catherine and the Paws-itive Pets on May 26, 2015 at 11:35 PM Comments comments (0)

Dear Sprinkle Goodness Reader,

I’m so excited…

I turn 10 years old this summer and we’re going to celebrate with a doggy birthday party!!

Have you ever thought of hosting a party for your doggy?

If you answered “Yes”, you’ll be excited to know that Catherine wrote an article for a pet website that explains how to plan a dog birthday party. You can see it here and get five doggy birthday tips and ideas – including a dessert idea that Catherine calls “Paw Print Cupcakes.”

These were the things Catherine learned when she planned Rocky’s 10th birthday party. (Rocky turns 13 this summer.) Now Catherine can use her own tips again to plan “my” celebration.

Hurray! I can’t wait for my special day! I also hope Catherine’s article on celebrating a dog’s birthday helps you plan a special day for your doggy too.

Yellow Daffodil and Paper Letters Inspire Mother's Day Photo

Posted by Catherine and the Paws-itive Pets on May 10, 2015 at 4:05 PM Comments comments (0)

***An article by Angel, our Paws-itive Kitty***

Dear Sprinkle Goodness Reader,

One daffodil and two paper letter “M’s” from a package of die-cut letters create the most unique photo idea for Mother’s Day. (The package of letters was a treasure find from the Dollar Tree store. And the daffodil came from a lovely floral bouquet in Walmart for approximately $5.00.)

The result? The word “Mom,” spelled with the daffodil in the middle to represent the letter “O” in “MoM”. It’s a photo idea Catherine created.

You can see it at the top of this blog entry.

I hope it inspires ideas for your own photography. It’s also available as a stock image here if you’d like to use this photo for Mother’s Day, your blog, designs ideas, and more.

Sincerely,

Angel, the Paws-itive Kitty

This Pet Website Helps New Dog Owners Prepare for the Responsibilities of Having a Puppy

Posted by Catherine and the Paws-itive Pets on April 7, 2015 at 1:05 PM Comments comments (1)

Dear Sprinkle Goodness Reader,

Sock-chasing. It’s a “doggy sport” I started when I was a young beagle. I still like finding socks and running away with them. Then, Catherine or Matt will chase me, often giggling, as they try to get the socks back.

I keep Catherine and Matt on their toes – even as an older dog. I turn 13 this summer.

I’ve pulled apart and de-fluffed more pillows than I can count. I’ve even chewed apart some of Matt’s van seat when we were on a family adventure together. I’ll tell you more about that pet travel adventure soon.

But today, I tell you about all of this because when you bring a new dog into your life – he or she comes with surprises. I certainly did. But I’m a lucky beagle. I’m loved and I’m part of the family.

But not every dog is so fortunate. Did you know that many people get puppies without fully understanding how much work they really are? According to the pet website New Dog Owners, far too many people “get rid of dogs within weeks of bringing them into their home. This hurts everyone involved and can give that dog issues with getting close to people and even worse, ending up at the pound, just to be put down.”

That’s why New Dog Owners help people stating: “We are here to hopefully help you with the new member of your family and to cut down on how many dogs are given up on and passed from home to home.”

New Dog Owners is a great site where first-time doggy owners can learn what to expect with puppies and how to teach them the rules of the home.

They help people prepare for the responsibilities of a new dog. They give tips to help people through the tough times, as well as tips for day-to-day living such as understanding dog health, which dog treats pet owners like the best, and more. They also try to answer questions that people have and solve common issues.

If you’re a first-time dog owner – or are thinking of getting a puppy, I highly recommend you visit New Dog Owners by clicking here today.

Sincerely,

Rocky, the Paws-itive Beagle

P.S.: Catherine and Matt have articles published on New Dog Owners. You can find Matt’s tips on how to start off on the right paw here on New Dog Owners or you can read Catherine’s articles which includes tips on helping your doggy live long and healthy here.
